Announcing the addition of the Texas Leadership Institute (TLI) as a major new program of TCRE - once a non-profit educational
consortium administered by LCRA, TLI was formed to enhance the ability of the small to
medium size communities in Texas to plan for sustainable
economic activity by building a team of trained leaders. TLI
has been bringing together key decision-makers - elected officials,
volunteers, chambers of commerce, community and
economic developers, convention and visitor bureau
personnel, health professionals, and school administrators,
for the purpose of addressing critical issues and challenges
in community development since 1995. TLI courses have been taught by an
impressive group of experienced trainers and experts.
In the future, participants can expect the same knowledge-based presentations that will
help them enhance their community development skills by recognizing new and existing resources. Once TLI has been fully incorporated into TCRE (hopefully by the end of this summer) course offerings will be expanded to include topics associated with leadership, community and economic development. Plans include offering courses on a regional basis in a number of venues that will decrease substantially participants travel expenses.
The TLI mission will continue to be to develop effective community leadership and
promote community and economic development, in partnership with local,
state and national organizations by providing training and technical
assistance to Texas communities. Please be patient as we get organized and stay tuned for announcements of educational programs in your area and around rural Texas.
If you would like to receive announcements about future TLI and other TCRE activities, please subscribe to our newsletters by adding your name to one or more of the lists available on the link to the right.
